The Stampede Student Section Leader Application
Student section leaders are responsible for leading the school with cheers, attending games, and boosting school morale. They should also be good models for other students. Student section leaders may also: Dress up with themes, learn chants, and encourage students to participate.
Attire: For games, we encourage students to dress according to theme for that game (ex. Red Out, Hawaiian Night, etc). If there is no theme, students are encouraged to wear fun and exciting outfits.
Hours: Hours will vary based on athletics event schedules. Student workers can work a maximum of 20 hours per week depending on availability of hours.
Compensation: Students will receive exclusive SMU gear.
Attendance: The Stampede student section leaders are required to arrive on time for events and stay until the event ends. If you will be late or cannot come to work, they must notify their supervisor as soon as possible. Student section leaders are not expected to remain on campus during fall, Thanksgiving, Christmas, and spring breaks. Student section leaders are expected to work a minimum of 3 football games and 15 Men’s/Women’s Basketball games or Volleyball matches.
Requirements:
- Commitment period is one school year (August-May)
- Responsible, reliable and consistent individual.
- Enthusiastic and knowledgeable about SMU Athletics.
